It’s important to be prepared when coming to Burnwood Lake Lodge. Be sure to read the information below on what to bring so that you are prepared for your exciting trip. Guests flying from Snow Lake to the lodge or outposts limits each guest to 75 pounds of personal gear. Guests flying with us from Winnipeg to Snow Lake are limited to 40 pounds of personal gear. Keep rod lengths under 7 feet and group your rods into one or two rod tubes. It is best to pack your personal items in duffle like bags rather than large suitcases so that they can be packed adequately in our plane compartments.
WHAT TO WEAR
We suggest you bring a variety of conformable clothes. While out on the lake you’ll want to wear layers so that you can take on and off as needed. Insulated clothing and regular fishing attire will work as well some rain gear.
FISHING GEAR
Provincial regulations require barbless hooks on tackle used in Manitoba. If you don’t want to bring your fishing gear, we have rods, reels and tackle for rent. We have a great selection of fishing lures, leaders and line for sale in our tackle shop at the lodge. We have fishing licenses at our float base and will provide you with one prior to heading out on your trip!
PERSONAL ITEMS
Don’t forget your camera! The scenery and wildlife are spectacular in northern Manitoba and you’ll want to take a picture of the trophy fish you’ll get! Sunscreen and insect repellent may be needed. Sunglasses, toiletries and medications. If you want to test the waters, bring your swim suit along. By mid to late June the water is warm enough to go for a swim!
