May is by far the most optimal month to target and catch Northern Pike in the northern United States and southern Canada. After recuperating from spawning, the Northern Pike prowl the shallows for Panfish and Baitfish. With little weed growth accumulated, the Northern Pike don’t have all that many spots built for ambushing and they haven’t seen anything resembling a lure in at least six months.
